TABLES
Restaurant table management, floor by floor
Set up each floor of your restaurant and the tables on it. The POS lists them floor by floor and shows each one as free or occupied as orders open and close, the same on every till and waiter's phone.
On every plan; some parts need Complete. See pricing
How do we set up floors and tables?
Add a floor, name it, and add its tables, each with a label and a number of seats. A table can be renamed, have its seats changed or be moved to another floor, and each branch has its own floors and tables.
- A table with an open order can't be deleted, and a floor can't be deleted while it still has tables.
How do staff see which tables are free?
Each table shows as free or occupied. It becomes occupied when an order is punched on it and free again when the bill is paid or the order is voided or cancelled, and every device sees the change within a second or two.
- The table list is kept on the device, so it still opens when the internet is down.
What happens when we tap an occupied table?
Its order opens, showing what's already on it, with another round to add or payment to take.
Can two tables share one bill?
Yes. Merging moves every item from one table's order onto the other's and frees the first table. It's refused when either order has a discount on the whole bill, or only one of them is tax exempt, because merging would change what's owed; those two are settled separately.
- Merging tables is its own permission.
- A takeaway can be given a free table if the customer decides to sit down, and a table's order can be made a takeaway, which frees the table.
Can guests order from the table themselves?
On the Complete plan
Yes, with QR ordering: each table gets its own QR code, and what a guest orders goes onto that table's bill.
What it doesn't do
Said plainly, so nobody finds out after buying.
- There's no map of the room to arrange tables on: they're listed floor by floor.
- There are no reservations: a table is free or occupied.
- An order can't be moved straight from one table to another; two tables can be merged instead.
